Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has written to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, urging immediate steps to ensure the safety of Malayali tourists stranded in Nepal amid the ongoing GenZ protests.

The chief minister said several tourists, including elderly people, are trapped near areas affected by violence and atrocities linked to the anti-government agitation. Continuing to remain in Nepal under such conditions is unsafe, he noted, and called for urgent intervention by the Centre.

Vijayan stressed the need for swift measures to bring back those stranded due to the violent protests and ensure their safe return to Kerala. He assured that the state government would work closely with the Centre to coordinate the repatriation of the tourists.
