Woman with Mental Disability Sexually Assaulted at Kattakada KSRTC Bus Stand; Accused at Large

Thiruvananthapuram: A woman with a mental disability was sexually assaulted at the Kattakada KSRTC bus stand at around 1.30 am on Saturday. The accused, identified as Brusley Shibu, is being actively hunted by police and a lookout notice is being issued against him. He is wanted in multiple criminal cases including drug-related offences.
The victim had been staying in the vicinity of the bus stand for several days and was asleep on a bench outside the KSRTC office when the assault took place. When KSRTC employees later noticed she was missing, they reviewed CCTV footage and discovered the crime. They immediately filed a complaint with police.
Brusley Shibu is known to police as a drug dealer in the area with a history of criminal cases including cannabis sale. Police are simultaneously searching for the victim, whose whereabouts are currently unknown.
