13 Students Suspended After Ragging Complaint at Kasaragod Government College

Kasaragod: A first-year student at Government College, Kasaragod, has alleged that he was subjected to ragging on campus. Following the complaint, the college suspended 13 undergraduate students from the second and third years.


According to the complaint, the incident took place on July 13 inside the college campus. A group of senior students allegedly stopped the first-year degree student, threatened him, and physically assaulted him.


After the incident, the student informed his parents, who subsequently filed a complaint with the college principal. Based on a preliminary inquiry, the college administration suspended the 13 accused students pending further action.


The victim has also lodged a complaint with the police. Officers said the student's statement will be recorded and an investigation into the incident will start soon.
