Landslide Near Peravoor Blocks Traffic on Palchuram Road

Kannur: A landslide near Chekkuthan Thodu at Palchuram, Peravoor, Kannur, has disrupted traffic on the route. The landslide occurred around 9 am on Tuesday. The District Collector has directed that steps be taken immediately to remove the mud and debris.

Police, fire force and revenue officials have reached the site. With heavy rain continuing in the area, authorities have warned of the possibility of further landslides and urged the public to remain vigilant. The District Collector has asked visitors and non-essential vehicles to stay away from the affected area.

Police have advised vehicles that need to use this route to take the Nidumboil-Peringome-Perya Ghat diversion instead.
