Thiruvananthapuram: The appointment of K B Pradeep as Special Government Pleader in the Devaswom Department is the latest example of UDF–BJP understanding in Kerala.

K B Pradeep—who had publicly praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi—was appointed to the position by Chief Minister V D Satheesan and his government.

Previously, Pradeep had openly expressed positions supportive of the Sangh Parivar through social media posts. Besides, he had shared several posts praising Narendra Modi, the BJP, and BJP leaders. In one of his posts on socila media, Pradeep described Modi as “THE GREAT INDIAN PRIME MINISTER.”

Even when Rajeev Cjandrasekhar was appointed as the chief of BJP in Kerala, Pradeep shared comments welcoming him, stating that “a new face of the BJP is coming to Kerala” and extending good wishes.

Meanwhile, the "special pleader" appointed by the Congress-led UDF government did not shy away from criticising and mocking Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Following Rahul Gandhi's speech at University of Cambridge in London, Pradeepaccused Rahul Gandhi of undermining India’s Prime Minister while referring to Britain’s historical role and India’s apparent economic progress under Modi.

Although Pradeep later stepped down following controversy surrounding the appointment, the incident had once again exposed V D Satheesan’s political proximity to the BJP.
