John Brittas MP Condemns Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar’s Response To Pinarayi Vijayan's Criticism of Yelahanka Demolitions

New Delhi: John Brittas MP released a statement condemning karnataka Depuy Chief minister DK Shivakumar's response to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for criticising the Yelahanka demolitions, which destroyed the homes and lives of hundreds of people.
Lashing out at Shivakumar, Brittas said that Pinarayi Vijayan is one of the tallest leaders in the Country, adding that neither the Kerala CM nor the CPI(M) members visited Yelahanka because of the upcoming elections in Kerala. The Rajyasabha member said,"We didn't visit places like Manipur, Kashmir or Uttar Pradesh because there was an election around the corner in Kerala. No.. When there are infringment on the rights of the people, when there is blatant violation of justice like the Bulldozer justice in Karnataka, our neighbouring state, it is upto us to respond and send our delegation,"
While criticising the Karnataka government, he added that the state government ruled by Congress only took actions to protect the hapless people, who were uprooted from their homes, after reactions and continues visits from the delegations.
"Karnataka government and the Congress leaders should be more sensitive," he said adding that a leader of Pinarayi's stature or a party like CPI (M) can raise their voice if incidents like this happen in any part of our country.
Earlier, responding to criticism from Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan over the demolition of homes in Bengaluru’s Faqir Colony and Waseem Layout, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said that the former should refrain from commenting on Karnataka’s internal affairs.
