Thiruvananthapuram: In a touching act of generosity, Isaac George (33) from Bathal Charuvila, Vadavod, Kollam, who tragically suffered brain death following a road accident, will continue to give life to six people through organ donation. Six of Isaac’s vital organs, including his heart, have been successfully donated.

Isaac’s heart now beats in 28-year-old Ajeen Elias, a resident of Angamaly, who is receiving treatment at a hospital in Kochi. One of his kidneys went to a patient at Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College, two corneas to patients at the Thiruvananthapuram Government Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, and the other kidney and liver were donated to patients at KIMS Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram.

Health Minister Veena George expressed deep gratitude to Isaac’s family for their selfless decision to donate organs even during a moment of profound grief. The minister also thanked everyone involved in ensuring the swift and safe transfer of the organs, including the Kerala State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (KSOTTO), police personnel, district administration, doctors, ambulance staff, and members of the public.

Following the minister’s instructions, KSOTTO acted promptly to deliver the organs to the respective hospitals. The heart was airlifted to Ernakulam using a helicopter provided by the Home Department, with traffic arrangements coordinated by the police to ensure rapid transport.

The accident occurred on the night of September 8 at around 8 pm in front of Isaac’s restaurant near Pallimukku, East Street, Kottarakkara, when he was struck by a bike while crossing the road. He was immediately taken to the nearby Kottarakkara hospital and later transferred to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram for further care.

After brain death was confirmed on September 10, Isaac’s family courageously consented to organ donation, turning a moment of sorrow into hope for others. Isaac’s family includes his wife Nancy Mariam Sam, their two-year-old daughter Amilia Nancy Isaac, late C.V. George’s child, and Mariamma George. The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 13, at the Bathal Charuvila residence.

Through his organs, Isaac George continues to give the gift of life, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and hope.
