Health Minister Veena George to Open New Health and Food Projects in Malappuram

Malappuram: Health Minister Veena George will inaugurate various schemes worth Rs 20.55 crore in Malappuram district on the 14th.
The Women's and Children's Block at Nilambur District Hospital, built at a cost of Rs 19 crore, will be inaugurated at 12:00 PM. The first phase of the project, implemented using Rs 12 crore, covers 46,000 square feet over four floors and includes facilities such as a gynecology OP, pediatrics department, observation room, preventive vaccination room, and ultrasound scan, with Rs 1.35 crore allocated for necessary equipment.
The new Food Street in Kottakunnu, constructed under the Modernisation of Food Street scheme with ₹1 crore, will be inaugurated at 4:00 PM. Overseen by the Food Safety Department, it aims to provide safe and clean spaces while adhering to food safety standards.
Four locations were chosen for the first phase: Shangumugham (Thiruvananthapuram), Kasthurba Nagar (Ernakulam), Kozhikode Beach, and Kottakunnu (Malappuram).
Additionally, the foundation stone of the Kuttitharamel Public Health Centre in Iringallur Grama Panchayat, built at a cost of ₹55.5 lakh, will be inaugurated by the minister at 3:00 PM.
