Five KSU Leaders Arrested Over Attack on Health Minister Veena George

Kannur: Five KSU leaders have been arrested in connection with the attack on Kerala Health Minister Veena George during a protest at Kannur Railway Station.
The minister sustained injuries to her neck and hand and is currently undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of Kannur District Hospital.
The Kannur Town Police arrested KSU district president MC Atul, treasurer VV Akshay, Bitul Balan, CH Mubas and Ahmed Yasin, who attacked the Minister.
The incident occurred at around 3.15 pm on Wednesday when the minister arrived at the railway station to board the Vande Bharat Express after attending the inauguration of the Kalyad International Ayurveda Research Centre.
According to reports, the minister’s vehicle was also targeted shortly before it reached the station premises. As she entered through the main gate of Platform No. 1, Youth Congress–KSU activists reportedly emerged from inside the station. While one protester approached with a black flag and was restrained, four others rushed toward the minister and assaulted her.
