Large Cache of Explosives Seized From Lorry in Palakkad

Palakkad: A large cache of explosives transported from Tamil Nadu was seized from a pickup lorry in Palakkad. The explosives were concealed under watermelons. They were detected during a vehicle inspection conducted by the South Police near the Medical College area around 9 pm on Wednesday night.
Police grew suspicious and signalled the vehicle to stop, but the driver failed to comply and attempted to flee. The police chased the vehicle and, upon inspection, discovered the explosive materials hidden inside.

The Fire and Rescue Services rushed to the spot and carried out a detailed examination. Preliminary information suggests that the seized material is gelatin sticks, a highly explosive substance.
The lorry driver, a native of Tamil Nadu, has been taken into police custody. His arrest will be recorded after further investigation.
