DYFI Protests Against Adoor Prakash Over Dileep Case Remarks

Thiruvananthapuram: Democratic Youth Federation of India staged a protest against UDF convener Adoor Prakash following his statement that actor Dileep received justice in the actress assault case, and that the government is appealing only due to having no other work. The demonstration, organised by the DYFI Thiruvananthapuram district committee, saw protesters burn Prakash’s portrait. DYFI leaders condemned him for disrespecting survivors, calling him a disgrace to Kerala and accusing him of turning into a political liability.

Adoor Prakash had stated that, in his view, Dileep received justice in the case.'Dileep has said that the case was fabricated by several police officers under the direction of senior officials. Such matters require close scrutiny. The government politicised the case and is appealing only because it has nothing else to do. This is a government that fabricates cases to target individuals,' Prakash said.

Responding at a ‘Meet the Press’ in Kannur, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that Prakash was merely reflecting the UDF’s political stance. He emphasised that the government and public stand with survivors at every stage and are committed to providing full support.

Earlier, when serious allegations were made against MLA Rahul Mamkoottathil, it was again Adoor Prakash who insulted survivors by claiming the audio evidence was AI-generated.
