Palakkad: DYFI has organised a protest march to the Palakkad Railway Divisional Office against the central government's anti-people decision to split the Palakkad Railway Division. Activists who arrived in a strong show of force are currently staging a sit-in at the Divisional Office.

The protest, led by DYFI district secretary Jayadevan, began at 8 am and DYFI has made clear that it will continue regardless of the scale of police deployment.

Strong criticism and protest against the Centre's move to divide the Palakkad Division in favour of the Karnataka government has been surging across Keralam for the past three days, with DYFI now escalating the agitation in response. The transfer of the Mangaluru region to the Mysuru Division is expected to cause the state significant revenue losses and create major difficulties for Keralam.
