Thiruvananthapuram: The DYFI Tiruvegappura Area Committee has announced a unique protest campaign titled "Power Cut Olympics 2026" to highlight the ongoing power outages in Keralam and the hardships faced by the public. The committee has also unveiled the campaign's first-look poster.

The campaign aims to draw public attention to the difficulties caused by frequent power cuts and build strong public opinion against the continuing electricity disruptions. It will feature a series of competitions and public participation events themed around power outages, using humour and satire as the central elements. The campaign will be conducted primarily through social media.

As part of the initiative, the committee will organise creative, participatory contests related to power cuts. Details including the competition schedule, categories, and rules will be announced soon, the DYFI Tiruvegappura Area Committee said.

The committee also urged the authorities to take immediate and long-term measures to resolve the power crisis, stating that the electricity shortages are adversely affecting the daily lives of people across the state.
