Kerala Govt Announces 10 Lakh Rupees Compensation for Victim of Hospital Collapse

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has approved a compensation of 10 lakh for the family of a woman who lost her life in the recent building collapse at Kottayam Medical College. The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting held on Thursday.
The financial assistance will be provided from the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. Additionally, the state government will recommend that the Travancore Devaswom Board offer a suitable job to the deceased woman’s son, according to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office.
The victim, 52 -year-old Bindu, had been at the hospital attending to her daughter when a toilet complex adjacent to wards 10, 11, and 14 suddenly gave way, burying her under the rubble. The tragic incident, which occurred last week.
