Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated that the opposition is afraid to introduce an adjournment Motion in the Assembly and has completely failed to play a constructive role in the House. He further added that the opposition, which has no allegations or accusations to raise against the government, has been avoiding discussions and hiding. He also remarked that the opposition's decision to boycott even the budget discussions is not in line with democratic principles.

The Chief Minister questioned whether there has ever been an opposition anywhere that is against development like this. He asked whether the opposition had ever provided any support to help move Kerala forward. According to him, they are ready to oppose the development projects being carried out in the state. He emphasised that for development to take place in the right way, sufficient funding is required. He pointed to the allegations made when the KIIFB was introduced for this purpose and asked whether the opposition took any action in favor of KIIFB at any point. He also questioned whether the opposition criticised the central government's wrong stance on this matter.

He asserted that the opposition seems determined to prevent Kerala from developing while the Left Democratic Front (LDF) is in power. He highlighted that key infrastructure projects, such as the national highway, the GAIL pipeline, the Idamon-Kochi power highway, the hill highway, and the coastal highway, all materialised because the LDF was in power. He asked whether the opposition ever supported any of these projects. He also criticised the United Democratic Front (UDF) for not being willing to criticize the central government's stance, which is suffocating the state.
