Chief Minister Calls Sanju and Congratulates Him

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan called Sanju Samson, who played a crucial role in Kerala's T20 World Cup victory, and congratulated him over the phone. Sanju arrived at Thiruvananthapuram airport on Monday evening from Ahmedabad, where the World Cup final match was held.

He was received by Education Minister V. Shivankutty upon his arrival at the airport.

Many fans gathered at the airport to catch a glimpse of Sanju and welcomed him with cheers. Sanju expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported him.

Minister V. Shivankutty had earlier announced that the state government would organise an official welcome for Sanju, a pride of the Malayali community. The event will be held in Thiruvananthapuram.

In the World Cup final match against New Zealand, Sanju was India's hero. Scoring a half-century in three consecutive matches, he made 89 runs off 46 balls. At the Ahmedabad stadium, he left the field after thrilling the crowd with eight sixes and five fours. Throughout the series, his stellar performance made him the star of the World Cup.
