Central Team to Reach Kozhikode Today as Nipah Monitoring Intensifies in Kerala

Kozhikode: Amid concerns over the Nipah in Kerala, a central team will arrive in Kozhikode today to assess the situation.
Officials from the Indian Council of Medical Research and the National Centre for Disease Control are expected to conduct the inspection.
The primary objective of the visit is to identify the source of the Nipah infection. According to reports, a seven-member team from ICMR will reach Kozhikode as part of the investigation.
The team is expected to visit locations linked to the reported patient and review the patient’s route map. Discussions will also be held with the district administration and authorities at the medical college regarding containment and preventive measures.
Meanwhile, the person infected with Nipah remains in critical condition. Reports indicate that the patient continues to be on ventilator support.
