BJP Worker Arrested for Assault and Attempted Sexual Assault of Elderly Woman in Alathur

Alathur: Police have arrested BJP worker Porulippadam Suresh in connection with an incident in Alathur in which an elderly woman was attacked after he broke into her house. Suresh, who allegedly sexually assaulted the elderly woman, was apprehended by Alathur police from Palani. Cases have been registered against him under sections including attempt to sexual assault and attempt to murder, and his formal arrest will be recorded soon.

The incident occurred a few days ago. The accused allegedly attacked the elderly woman, who was living alone in Paadoor, and attempted to sexually assault her. The assault reportedly took place after Suresh was seen consuming alcohol publicly while sitting on the roadside. Visuals showing him drinking alcohol in public had earlier surfaced.
