Binoy Viswam Slams UDF Convener Adoor Prakash for Supporting Dileep

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam strongly criticised UDF convener Adoor Prakash for supporting actor Dileep, the eighth accused in the case involving the assault of a prominent actress. Binoy Viswam questioned whose side the UDF and its convener were on, asking whether the UDF was waving its flag in support of those who abuse women.

He said that the UDF, which has been backing Rahul Mamkoottathil, would have no hesitation in supporting the actor as well. “If the UDF stands with such people, the public will punish them. After hearing the UDF convener’s statement, not a single voter will be willing to vote for the UDF. Their action is an insult to women voters. No one who has a mother or a daughter can tolerate such behaviour. We stand with the survivor — we stand with her fight,” he said.

He added that the women in the film industry would not remain silent out of fear of Dileep’s influence, wealth, or power. The stance taken by the opposition is anti-women, he said, asserting that the LDF has always been on the side of the survivor. “This is not the final word of justice. The full truth has not yet been revealed,” Binoy Viswam added.
