Filing Complaint Against Perpetrators Was the Best Decision of My Life, Says Actor Bhavana

Thiruvananthapuram: Actor Bhavana has said that filing a complaint immediately after facing the attack was the best decision she has made in her life.

“I felt it was the right thing to do, and I did it. If I hadn’t done that, there would have been serious consequences. I would have lost my peace of mind,” Bhavana said. She added that as long as one has not committed any wrongdoing, there is nothing wrong in filing a complaint, and she firmly believes that her decision was right.

“I owe it to myself for holding on without falling apart during this journey. Everyone can offer support—that is all they can do. Relatives and friends will say, ‘Don’t worry, we are with you, you are not alone.’ If tomorrow I am in such a situation, I too can only say the same to someone else. But I cannot say that "from today I will take away your pain". No one can share my pain. They may understand me emotionally, but in the end, for facing everything and moving forward, I am indebted only to myself,” she said.

Referring to the case, Bhavana said that some witnesses have changed their stance, though she chose not to name them. “That doesn’t shock me anymore. It’s their decision. I have no complaints,” she said. She also noted that beyond her family and friends, many people have stood by her, and even now, there are people who become emotional, hug her, and express their solidarity whenever they meet her.
