Fire Breaks Out at Baby Memorial Hospital; No Injuries Reported

Kozhikkode: A fire broke out on the upper floor of C Block at Baby Memorial Hospital in Kozhikode. Authorities have confirmed that everyone is safe, and the fire occurred in an unoccupied area.
Although a large volume of smoke caused panic, swift action by the hospital staff prevented any major disaster. Smoke from the affected top floor also spread to nearby wards, but hospital officials immediately alerted the fire department. Three fire units arrived at the scene and were able to extinguish the fire after several hours of effort.
Hospital authorities confirmed that the affected area houses the air-conditioning plant, and no patients or staff were in that section at the time. All patients and their companions present in the hospital were safely relocated to other blocks.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a short circuit caused the fire. Further inquiry into the incident is underway.
