Hospital staff file complaint after mock drill photos misused in drug news by Asianet News

Alappuzha: Asianet News Malayalam committed a serious error by publishing photos from a hospital mock drill alongside a news report on drug trafficking. The incident occurred at Alappuzha General Hospital, where female staff and other personnel had participated in a routine mock drill. Hospital authorities have filed a complaint with the police, alleging misuse of the images.

Hospital staff regularly conduct Code Grey mock drills every six months to prevent sudden violent incidents. The photos in question were from the recent drill and were wrongly used in a news report about a young man’s bank account being seized in connection with a drug trafficking case.

Superintendent Dr. R. Sandhya lodged complaints with the District Police Chief and the Cyber Crime Police Station. Hospital employees protested against Asianet’s misleading report.
