Thiruvananthapuram: Armada, a leading AI and edge computing company based in the United States, has expanded its operations in Kerala with a new office in Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram. The company, which initially set up a small research and development (R&D) unit in 2024, has now increased its presence, creating over 150 high-skill job opportunities in the state.

When Armada first opened its office in Kerala, the focus was on establishing a small R&D space. Just a month after operations began, Armada decided to expand, announcing this move at a Robotics Conclave organized by the State Department of Industries.

This rapid expansion highlights the growing appeal of Kerala as a destination for technology firms. The decision to scale up operations was welcomed by industry leaders.

One of the main reasons for Armada’s decision to expand in Kerala is the state's skilled workforce. According to company officials, Kerala offers a strong pool of talent, particularly in the fields of AI, robotics, and edge computing. The local workforce is seen as highly capable, which is a crucial factor for companies involved in advanced technology.

Armada, which has raised $40 million in venture funding from Microsoft Ventures, is known for its work in AI, machine learning, and edge computing. The company collaborates with major global companies, including Starlink, to deliver innovative solutions across various industries.

The expansion of Armada’s operations in Kerala is also a step forward in the state’s role in the growing AI and tech sectors in India. With a focus on cutting-edge technologies, Armada’s growth in Kerala aligns with the state's broader goals of promoting innovation and technological development.

The Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram, one of the largest IT parks in India, continues to play a key role in driving this growth. It houses several national and international tech companies, providing a conducive environment for innovation and collaboration.
