Ammonia Gas Leak Reported at Ice Factory in Thiruvananthapuram, Worker Hospitalised

Thiruvananthapuram: An ammonia gas leak was reported at an ice factory in Channankara, Thiruvananthapuram. According to reports, the leak occurred at Bismi Ice Plant located in Channankara.

The ammonia leak was reported at around 6 pm. Following complaints of discomfort and breathing difficulty, the pump operator, a native of Assam, was shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Initial reports indicate that a valve malfunction caused the ammonia leak. Fire and Rescue Services personnel who arrived from Kazhakkoottam are currently attempting to shut the valve and bring the situation under control.
