Opposition to Expose False Claims of UDF Government; ‘White Paper of Facts’ to Be Released Today

Thiruvananthapuram: The AKG Study and Research Centre will release its alternative document, titled "White Paper of Facts", on Monday in response to the UDF government's white paper.

The publication will be released by Opposition Leader Pinarayi Vijayan at a function to be held at 4 pm at the AKG Mini Hall. CPI(M) State Secretary M V Govindan, former Finance Minister K N Balagopal and other senior party leaders are expected to attend the event.

C N Mohanan, Director of the AKG Study and Research Centre, said the alternative white paper seeks to expose what he described as the false campaign carried out by the UDF over the past decade regarding Keralam's financial condition.

The UDF government's white paper attempts to validate a decade-long campaign by the then Opposition hat the state is trapped in a debt crisis. The document creates fear by highlighting only the state's overall debt figures and signals a retreat from development and welfare initiatives.

The white paper by the V D Satheesan's government indicates the UDF government intends to implement policies similar to those pursued by the Narendra Modi-led Union government in Keralam.
