Air India Express Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Kochi Airport

Kochi: A major accident was averted at Kochi International Airport when an Air India Express flight made an emergency landing after developing a technical issue. The aircraft, which was scheduled to land at Karipur after departing from Jeddah, was diverted to Kochi, where it landed safely. Both tyres of the aircraft reportedly burst during the emergency landing. Airport authorities confirmed that all 160 passengers on board are safe.

The flight was originally expected to arrive at Karipur early in the morning. However, during the journey, the pilot detected a technical malfunction and requested permission for an emergency landing. Nedumbassery airport was fully prepared to handle the situation, with CISF personnel and fire and rescue services deployed on standby.

No further incidents were reported during the emergency landing. The passengers are currently remaining at the airport as further arrangements are being made.
