Case to Be Filed Against Adoor UDF Candidate for Violating Election Model Code of Conduct

Adoor: Legal action will be initiated against UDF candidate C V Shanthakumar for violating the Model Code of Conduct during the election silence period by attempting to influence voters.

District Election Officer and District Collector S Prem Krishnan has directed the police to register a case against the candidate.

As per election rules, a 48-hour silent campaigning period comes into effect after the conclusion of campaigning and continues until the end of polling. During this time, candidates are prohibited from engaging in any activities—through visual media or social media—that could influence voters.

Authorities stated that Shanthakumar violated these norms by interacting with the media during the restricted period, prompting the directive for legal action.
