Adoor Prakash Backs Dileep After Verdict, Calls Govt’s Support for Survivor a ‘Weapon’

Adoor: Following the verdict in the actress assault case, UDF Convener Adoor Prakash has come out in support of actor Dileep, who was the eighth accused in the case. His remarks are being seen as fresh evidence that the UDF leadership continues to stand with the accused actor rather than the survivor.
At the same time, Adoor Prakash did not shy away from criticising the state government, which had stood firmly with the survivor throughout the legal battle. The UDF convener portrayed the government’s support for the actress as a “weapon” being used against the opposition.
“The government is fabricating every case,” Adoor alleged, adding that there were accusations that this case too was fabricated using certain police officers.
He also mentioned that he knew Dileep personally. Mocking the government’s decision to file an appeal in the case, he remarked, “They have no other work,” brushing off the seriousness of the state’s move.
Adoor Prakash was speaking to the media in Adoor after casting his vote.
The Congress had previously expressed positions that were seen as supportive of Dileep, who was an accused in the case.
