Thiruvananthapuram: Public Works Minister P. Muhammed Riyaz said that the construction of 200 bridges in Kerala has been successfully completed as the second Pinarayi Vijayan government marks its five-year tenure. The minister shared the joy of achieving double the target through his Facebook page.

The initial target, when the Public Works Department took charge in 2021, was to complete 100 bridges. However, through proper planning and special monitoring systems, 200 bridges were completed. These bridges were built at a cost of over Rs 2,000 crore. This success is attributed to the coordinated efforts of various departments under the Public Works Department.

To speed up the construction work, the minister led regular review meetings and conducted direct inspections at construction sites. The minister also announced the number of bridges that have been opened for traffic. This achievement marks a significant milestone in Kerala's infrastructure development.
