Seven more health institutions receive National Quality Accreditation

Thiruvananthapuram: Seven more health institutions in Kerala have received accreditation under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS), Health Minister Veena George announced.

The newly certified institutions and their respective NQAS scores are as follows: Koppam Community Health Centre in Palakkad (97.63%), Kundamangalam Family Health Centre in Kozhikode (90.75%), Chattanchal Family Health Centre in Kasaragod (86.88%), Perumanna Family Health Centre in Kozhikode (95.08%), Panathur Family Health Centre in Kasaragod (85.88%), Begur Family Health Centre in Wayanad (98.79%), and Chaliyam Family Health Centre in Kozhikode (94.47%).

With this, the total number of NQAS -accredited health institutions in the state has risen to 240. In addition, 14 hospitals have received National LaQshya Certification, and 5 hospitals have been awarded the National MusQan certification.

The accredited institutions include 7 district hospitals, 5 taluk hospitals, 12 community health centres, 46 urban family health centres, 160 family health centres, and 10 people’s health centres.

The NQAS accreditation is valid for three years, after which a reassessment by the national team will be conducted. Additionally, there will be annual state -level evaluations.

Institutions that receive NQAS accreditation are eligible for financial incentives: 2 lakh each for family and urban family health centres, 18,000 per package for people’s health centres, and 10,000 per bed per year for other hospitals.
