Kozhikode: LDF convener TP Ramakrishnan stated that the verdict in the actress assault case is not the final word and the government has decided to approach the higher courts. Addressing a 'Meet the Press' event here, he emphasised that the government will take a firm stance and move forward decisively.

'All those involved in the gang have been punished, though the conspiracy could not be proven. This is not the final verdict,' he said. Commenting on political reactions, Ramakrishnan noted, "One should not be surprised by the stance taken by Adoor Prakash. Congress is the party that protected Rahul Mamkoottathil till the very end. He was removed only after the situation changed. Regardless of Congress’ position, the government will adopt a strong course of action.'

Ramakrishnan also highlighted the achievements and plans of the LDF government, noting that it is poised to return to power for the third consecutive term. He said the administration plans to introduce stronger development and welfare schemes, including initiatives to provide income opportunities to 2 million women over the next five years. 'Our aim is to eradicate poverty from every household, moving the state towards a poverty-free future,' he added.

The convener reiterated that the government remains committed to both justice and progressive social policies.
