LDF wins unopposed in four places in Kannur

Kannur: With the close of nomination filing on Friday, the LDF has secured victory in four wards in Kannur district. Two CPI M candidates in Anthoor Municipality and two in the Malappattam panchayat have been elected unopposed. As no nominations were submitted in these wards until 3 pm, the candidates will be officially declared winners once the deadline concludes.

In Anthoor Municipality, where the LDF faces no contest, K Rajitha has been elected from the Morazha ward and K Premarajan from the Podikkundu ward. Rajitha is a worker at the Morazha Weavers and a member of the CPI M Morazha College Branch. She also serves as the president of the Janadhipathya Mahila Association Morazha Village Committee.

K Premarajan, a long-time CPI M Anthoor Local Secretary, also works as the Village Secretary of the Agricultural Workers Union and chairs the IRPC Anthoor Local Committee.

In the Malappattam panchayat, I V Othenan from Aduvappuram North and C K Shreya from Aduvappuram South have been elected without opposition. Othenan is a PKS Area Committee member and a CPI M Chooliyad Local Committee member. CK Shreya is a member of the DYFI Sreekandapuram Block Committee.
