Kasaragod: In Kasaragod Municipality, the LDF has filed a complaint with the Election Commission after Muslim League leader Ashraf Edaneer openly sought votes on religious grounds during a public meeting. The LDF has demanded that the candidate who benefited from this religious appeal be disqualified.
Ashraf Edaneer sought votes in support of the League’s candidate Shahina in the 16th Ward, Thuruthy, stating in his speech, “We are those who fast five times a day and follow all Islamic practices,” indicating that the candidate was chosen with Islamic principles in mind. He also mentioned that religious considerations are part of the candidate selection process.
