16,589 Kudumbashree Members to Contest in Upcoming Local Body Elections

Thiruvananthapuram: A total of 16,589 Kudumbashree members are contesting in the upcoming local body elections. Among them are 227 CDS chairpersons and 1,985 CDS members. In addition, 132 auxiliary group members are in the fray.

From the Attappady Special Project, 35 members are contesting. This includes two panchayat samiti chairpersons and nine ooru samiti members. The highest number of Kudumbashree contestants is from Alappuzha (1,735 candidates), while the lowest is from Idukki (269 candidates).
