Washington DC: Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to visit the United States after an 11-year gap. Xi will arrive in the US on September 23 and hold a crucial meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House on September 24. The meeting between the world's two largest economic powers is expected to have significant international implications. Xi last visited the US in 2015, when Barack Obama was the US president. Reports suggest that Trump is expected to personally receive Xi Jinping, breaking with established protocol, as the Chinese president prepares to visit the US after 11 years. CEOs of leading US technology companies, including Nvidia, OpenAI, Google and Apple, are also expected to attend a dinner hosted by Trump for Xi Jinping. Trump visited China in May this year. Trump and Xi are also expected to meet at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum to be held in Shenzhen, China, in November. Reports also suggest that Trump may invite Xi Jinping to the G20 summit to be held in the US.
