Tehran: The United States has intensified its attacks on Iran, with a US missile strike hitting a house where a wedding ceremony was underway in southern Iran, killing four people, including a child, and injuring more than 50 others. The missile struck Kuhestak in Sirik County, in Iran’s southern Hormuzgan province.

The Iranian Red Crescent said fragments from the US missile hit the house while the wedding ceremony was taking place. Hormuzgan Deputy Governor Ahmad Nafisi initially said two people had been killed in the attack. The death toll was later revised to four.

Iranian state media released footage showing people running and screaming following the attack. Local Iranian media also reported strikes in several cities, including Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas, Jask and Chabahar, as well as at Jiroft civilian airport.

US President Donald Trump said the United States would carry out further attacks on Iran. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent also warned that Washington would impose new economic sanctions on Tehran.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard spokesperson, however, warned that the US administration would eventually regret its actions.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf issued a strong warning, saying, “If Iran cannot export oil from the Persian Gulf, no one else in the region will be allowed to export oil.”

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei also criticised Washington, saying the United States had misunderstood negotiations as a means of imposing its conditions on Iran.
