Suicide Blast at Home of Peace Committee Member in Pakistan; Five People Killed

Islamabad: At least five people were killed and ten others injured in a suicide blast at a wedding house in Pakistan’s northwestern province.

The explosion took place on Friday night at the residence of Noor Alam Mehsud, a member of a local peace committee, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Reports indicate that Waheedullah Mehsud was among those killed in the attack. Police said the powerful blast occurred while guests were dancing, causing the house to collapse and the roof to cave in.

The region has witnessed similar attacks in recent times. Earlier this year, four members of a peace committee were killed in an attack in the same area, while seven others were killed in a separate incident in November last year.
