Tehran: A message of gratitude from Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, was sent to the Iraqi people and religious leadership for their support in the face of recent attacks. Iran's state media reported this, although it has not disclosed the medium through which the message was sent. The revelation comes amid U.S. claims that Mojtaba Khamenei, who took power after the assassination of his father, the former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was also assassinated. The message was released following a meeting between the Iranian ambassador in Baghdad and the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq.

Meanwhile, global debate is intensifying regarding the health of Mojtaba Khamenei and whether he is alive. The suspicions are fueled by the fact that he has not appeared in public since the attacks. U.S. President Donald Trump has previously alleged that the new Supreme Leader was either killed or in critical condition. Only written statements have been released through state media.

Ali Khamenei was killed in a military operation on February 28. On March 9, his son, Mojtaba Khamenei, was chosen as his successor. The U.S. claims that he was killed in an attack on March 11.
