London: The Students’ Federation of India (SFI), United Kingdom, will host the first annual Sitaram Yechury Lecture on September 12, on the theme “India and the World: The Right Wing Assault Against Education.”
The lecture, to be held online at 7 PM (IST) via Zoom, will feature Dr. Bhabani Shankar Nayak, Professor of Business Management at London Metropolitan University, and Dr. Rahul Rao, Reader in International Political Thought at the University of St Andrews, as speakers.
As part of the programme, SFI UK will also organise a commemorative event for CPI M former General Secretary Sitaram Yechury at St. James Park, SW1A 2BJ, London, on September 13.
Organisers said the lecture series is aimed at critically examining contemporary challenges to education in India and globally, amid growing concerns over ideological interventions and right-wing policies.
They added the annual lecture intends to bring together scholars, students, and activists to deliberate on issues of democracy, education, and social justice. Registration is open through the SFI UK network. Link Follows: https://ed-ac-uk.zoom.us/meeting/register/nbI7NsVaScOZhYN-1SUw5w
