Eid-ul-Fitr to Be Celebrated on 20th in Gulf Countries Except Oman

Dubai: Gulf countries, excluding Oman, will celebrate Eid ul-Fitr on the 20th, following the official announcement by Saudi Arabia that the crescent moon was not sighted. The festival marks the end of a month-long period of fasting and prayers observed by believers.

This year’s celebrations come amid heightened tensions in West Asia, influencing the scale and nature of observances across the region.

Authorities in UAE have announced that Eid prayers will be restricted to mosques only, with no permissions granted for prayers in open grounds or Eidgahs. The Islamic Affairs and Endowments Authority stated that the precautionary measures are aimed at ensuring the safety of worshippers in view of the prevailing regional conflict.

Preparations for Eid prayers have been completed in mosques across the country, and authorities have urged believers to strictly follow official guidelines. Worshippers have also been advised to arrive early to avoid crowding and ensure smooth conduct of prayers.

In Kuwait, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs announced that Eid prayers will be held at 6.08 am in all mosques where Friday prayers are conducted. Similar to the UAE, no arrangements will be made for prayers in open grounds or external prayer centers. The ministry stated that these measures are intended to ensure better organization and convenience for worshippers.
