Washington: US President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that he has stopped eight wars, including the India-Pakistan conflict. Trump stated that Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif told him that if he had not intervened in Operation Sindoor, 3.5 crore people would have been killed in Pakistan. Trump made these remarks while addressing a joint session of the US Congress.

Following the Pahalgam attack on April 22, which killed 26 people, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 to target camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Four days later, on May 10, India and Pakistan reached an agreement to end the conflict. However, India clarified that there was no third-party intervention, as Trump claimed, and that the conflict ended through a bilateral decision. Nevertheless, Trump continues to assert his claims. So far, he has made this claim on several occasions, around twenty times.
