Body Found in Sack at Thevara; Police Suspect Murder

Kochi: An unidentified woman’s body was discovered wrapped in a sack at Thevara in Ernakulam, on Saturday morning. The body was found on the pathway leading to house of a resident named George in Konthuruthy in Thevara, triggering suspicion of murder.

Harithakarma Sena workers, who arrived for routine garbage collection, first noticed the body and saw the house owner, George, sitting nearby. They later informed the local councillor, who later informed the police.

Ernakulam South police have taken George, a palliative care worker, into custody for questioning. Senior officials, including the South ACP, reached the spot to conduct an investigation.

The identity of the deceased woman has not yet been established. Investigation is underway.
