Domestic Violence Case: House Torched After Woman Questions Son-in-Law

Palakkad: A man has been arrested for setting his mother-in-law’s house on fire after she questioned him for assaulting her daughter. The incident occurred at around 3 am on Sunday in ValiyaParamba, Karassery, in Palakkad district.

The accused, Rasheed, a native of Puthupady, assaulted his wife and the woman sustained injuries and was admitted to hospital for treatment.

After being discharged, she returned to her mother Jameela’s house along with her. Jameela reportedly confronted Rasheed over the assault, which led to an argument between them.

In the early hours of the morning, Rasheed set fire to Jameela’s house. He was later taken into custody by the Mukkam police. After his arrest, he was produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.
