Kollam: The city of Kollam resonated with revolutionary energy as the flag of the CPIM State Conference was raised at the Ashram Maidan (Sitaram Yechury Nagar) on the birthday of Russian revolutionary Joseph Stalin on Wednesday evening. The Chairman of the Reception Committee, K. N. Balagopal, hoisted the flag after the processions, carrying flags, torch, and flagpole, converged in a powerful display of class unity. As delegates from across the state reached the city, the flag was hoisted, symbolizing the collective strength of the working class. Following this, the processions from 23 martyrs' cottages gathered and lit a flame at the Kodiyeri Balakrishnan Nagar near the Town Hall.

On Thursday (March 6) morning at 9 AM, the flag will again be raised at Kodiyeri Balakrishnan Nagar (C. Keshavan Smaraka Town Hall) as part of the beginning of the delegate session. Politburo member and Central Committee Coordinator, Prakash Karat, will inaugurate the conference. A public meeting will be held at Ashram Maidan (Sitaram Yechury Nagar) on Sunday evening.

After three decades, the conference has been embraced with unwavering enthusiasm by the people of Kollam. The processions, which traveled from key revolutionary sites, were met with passionate support from the masses, reaffirming their commitment to the ongoing struggle against capitalist-communal oppression. In the days leading up to the conference, a series of workers' gatherings, seminars, and competitions were held, addressing the critical issues faced by the working class. A historical exhibition at Ashram Maidan drew widespread attention, highlighting the enduring fight for justice and equality.
