New Delhi : BJP  forges ties with Conrad  Sangma, who it described as the most corrupt man. Speaking at an election rally in Thura, on 17 Feb, the Home Minister Amit Shall dubbed Conrad as the most corrupt man in the country.

If BJP comes to power, a special committee shall be formed to investigate corruptions involving Conrad Sangma and NPP leaders, Shah had said.

Hoping victory in all 60 seats, the BJP leaders had collectively and vociferously  attacked  Sangma  and  the NPP. That attitude saw little change even after polling.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and and BJP chief strategist, held a secret meeting with Conrad in Guwahati.  Sarma proposed that  BJP  be included in the next govt too, else  there will be Central agencies at doorstep, he threatened. Sangma buckled and assured to make BJP part of the coalition.

When results came, BJP win shrunk to just two seats.
