Melathur : A faction in Muslim League clashed with panchayat leadership in Edapatta following which, the group formed its own parallel panchayat committee by the name “Save Muslim League Edapatta Panchayat Committee”.
Former Youth League Ward Secretary and other workers, including office bearers, initiated the new committee in protest of the dictatorial style of a certain faction within the panchayat committee. The new committee comprises MT Kujaimu as president, Shabeer Valiottil as secretary and Syed Ali as the treasurer. In coming days, new committees will be set up at all 15 wards in the panchayat, said the new office bearers.
