Kerala First In Health Care Rankings Countrywide: CM

Thiruvananthapuram : Kerala ranks first among states in public healthcare, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, adding that science and technology should be put to use for humane welfare. The Chief Minister was inaugurating international conference and workshop at Biomedical Translation Research organised by Sri Chitra Medical Centre in the capital.

The government is set to implement project Brain Gain, whereby eminent individuals from all over the world shall be invited to Kerala. A Scholar in Residence program is also  underway to facilitate interaction by Nobel laureates at our research levels. Facilites for Malayali researches shall be arranged for here. Shortcomings in this regard shall be thus resolved, said CM.

Medical data collection is very important. The government now has under it a large database and is of the view  it should be made available to experts in a secure fashion for better research outcomes. The conference and workshop here begins against this backdrop, said CM and wished for the event to prove inspirational to young researchers.
