Kochi : The High Court annulled Assembly election results of Devikulam constituency on finding MLA A. Raja ineligible for the SC reservation seat because of his Christian convert status. The ruling came on petition filed by UDF candiate D. Kumar who had lost elections.
CPI(M) MLA Raja is a Christian convert and that makes him ineligible to contest in SC bracket, the court observed in its ruling.
