Farewell To That Smile; Innocent Laid To Rest

Irinjalakuda : Amid outpouring grief, the all-smiles actor and former MP, Innocent, was laid to rest Tuesday morning at St. Thomas Cathedral cemetery in full state honours. Special prayers were performed at home after which the body was  brought to St. Thomas Cathedral church in funeral procession.

Innocent passed away at Lakeshore Hospital in Kochi from multi-organ failure and cardiac arrest following Covid complications with underlying cancer conditions. Tens of thousands, including prominent film personalities, thronged to Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Kochi, where the body was first laid for public homage. Innocent was then ferried homeward and kept at Irinjalakuda town Hall upto 3.30 Monday afternoon and then moved to his home “Parpida” for last tributes

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, CPI-M Politburo members MA Baby, A Vijayaraghavan, Central Committee Member PK Srimati, District Secretary MM Varghese, State Committee Members AC Moiteen MLA, NR Balan, MK Kannan, CN Mohanan, at Iringalakuda Town Hall yesterday. S Sharma, Speaker AN Shamseer, Ministers K Radhakrishnan, R Bindu, MB Rajesh and VN Vasavan reached Irinjalakuda to pay their  last respects. Film industry faces  in Irinjalakuda for tributes were : Directors Sathyan Anthikad, Priyadarshan, PT Kunju Muhammed, Actors Mohanlal, Biju Menon, Dileep, Tovino Thomas, Siddique, Jayaraj Warrier, Joju, Baburaj, Vinu Mohan, Shivani, Ivala Babu, Babu Namboothiri, VK Sriraman, Harish Kanaran, Music Director Vidyadharan, IM Vijayan and others.
