Ahmedabad : Gujarat Congress Working President, Hardik Patel, has quit the party. With State Assembly polls barely months away, the exit comes as big setback to Congress.
Hardik started out as a Patidar leader, Hardik and shot to limelight following Patidar reservation protests of 2015 in Gujarat. . He joined Congress shortly before losing Lok Sabha elections in 2019 and was appointed as the working president in July 2020.
In his resignation letter, Hardik accused Congress’s top leadership of hating Gujarat and Gujaratis. For a year now, Hardik has been criticising the state leadership for not including him in organisational decisions and accused it of sabotaging his political prospects.
According to sources, BJP held a Chintan Shivir in Gujarat two days ago at which Hartik Patel was a topic of discussion.
